The largest science center in the Southeastern United States, MOSI (Museum of Science
and Industry) utilizes a "hands-on, minds-on" approach, making it especially
delightful to children.
Over 450 interactive exhibits give you the chance to do everything from observe
open heart surgery to fly a daring mission as a fighter pilot.
You can experience the impact of 74 mph hurricane force winds in the Gulf Coast
Hurricane exhibit, or walk among thousands of free flying butterflies in the BioWorks
Butterfly Garden.
MOSI also has the only IMAX Dome Theater in Florida, and a wonderful planetarium.
This museum in our opinion is not like the other major attractions in the area.
Some of the exhibits are older and there just does not seem to be a lot of excitement
when you walk through the museum. However, there are some good exhibits in the museum
especially the traveling exhibits that are located in the center. These do have
a separate admission fee, however. I would check it out if you have extra time.
However, if you are short on time then there are many other more exciting attractions
in the area.
