The Tampa Bay Lightning is Tampa Bay’s 2004 Stanley Cup professional NHL hockey
team. Its one of three professional sports franchises in the area including the
Tampa Bay Devil Rays and the Tampa Bay Buccaneers.
The Tampa Bay Lightning was added as an expansion team in 92' playing in Expo Hall,
a small 11,000 seat facility at the Florida State Fairgrounds. The team later moved
to the Florida Suncoast Dome (now called Tropicana Field, stadium of the Tampa Bay
Devil Rays). Then another move came to its current home at the Ice Palace (now the
St. Pete Times Forum).
